Take the Cake is very nearly real!  Actually this is a cafe near my home called Sherbert (on Whatley Crescent near Eighth Avenue in Maylands if you’re in Perth).  It’s owned/operated by two women who got the idea when they were in New York and cupcakes were the next big thing.

Vintage/retro furniture, all baked goods made on the premises, and great coffee.  The smeg fridge they’ve got there is icing on the cake, if you’ll excuse the pun.

I might have to take them a copy of the book someday.
